PHASE CHANGE COOLING

Comfortably Colder. Faster. Longer.

OmniKül transforms ordinary cold therapy into a conforming, controlled cooling experience designed for the equine athlete.

Our proprietary phase-change slurry combines subfreezing cooling performance with a flowable consistency that surrounds the treatment area—helping eliminate the gaps, shifting, and uneven contact commonly associated with traditional ice wraps.

Cooling That Works Differently

Traditional ice boots and frozen inserts often rely on rigid blocks or packs. They may touch some parts of the horse’s leg while leaving other areas separated by fabric, air, or an uneven fit.

OmniKül uses a semi-frozen phase-change slurry instead.
Because the material contains both solid and liquid phases, it can flow around the contours of the horse’s leg while continuing to absorb heat as its ice crystals melt. This creates broad contact with the treatment area and helps maintain useful cooling throughout the session.

As the frozen portion of the slurry changes phase and melts, it continues absorbing heat. This helps the material resist rapid warming and sustain cooling through the treatment period.

Longer

The flowable slurry begins conforming to the treatment area as soon as it is applied, supporting efficient heat transfer without waiting for a rigid pack to soften.

Faster

OmniKül is engineered to operate below the freezing point of ordinary water ice while remaining workable inside its purpose-built wearables.

The result is a cooling system designed around three priorities:

What Is a Phase-Change Material?

A phase-change material, or PCM, absorbs and releases thermal energy while changing between physical states.

Ice is a familiar example. As ice melts into water, it absorbs heat from its surroundings. During this transition, much of the incoming energy is used to melt the ice rather than simply warm the material.

OmniKül applies that thermal principle through an engineered, flowable slurry developed for equine cooling. Instead of freezing into one rigid mass, the system is designed to maintain a usable mixture of cold liquid and ice crystals.

This combination gives OmniKül two important advantages:

  • The slurry conforms closely to irregular body contours.

  • The changing ice crystals continue absorbing heat as they melt.

In simple terms, OmniKül puts more usable cold in contact with more of the treatment area.
